When a market opens above or below a Value Area which could be in the daily or weekly or even the Monthly time frame , it sets into motion the Value Area Rule also called the 80% Rule. This rule states that for every Open above a value area there is an 80% probability that the market would go to the Value Area Low if it enters the value zone from outside . It works the same way if it opens from below and enters the value area from the Value Area Low. The Value Area Rule works better if the previous value zone is well balanced and gaussian. The odds diminish if the previous value area is lopsided or dominated by more of a seller and a buyer. The movement through value is faster if volume in the move is higher.
